Flour

.

In the belly of its mother,

The seed, once nourished, grows stronger,

Flourishing with the good weather,

And without, just taking longer.

One day it sprouts out from the earth,

Fragile green spot against the world,

For itself creating a hearth,

Withstanding all that’s, towards it, hurled,

Reaching far up for the heaven,

To devour light so craven,

In its life, many trials cleared,

From birds and insects, a threat looms,

And there is always to be feared,

From the day it’s born ’til it blooms.

Not my best work, but it’ll have to do… x)

He looked beyond…

.

Many have wondered about the stars in his eyes

Without ever knowing the object of his mind

Many a question about what he really saw

Not even one answer as to what was his dream,

Though whenever he played the age-old instrument,

A rare dark wood cello, which to him was sacred,

His face became so bright, his smile became so wide,

Tears rose to his eyes and his large heart would  swell

Some thought he looked at them, others he saw heaven,

Some ever thought he reached the love so long craven,

I, for one, dared to hope he’d chosen me for muse,

But in the end, not once, he truly looked at me…

On the pier

.

Sky so blue, as the sea, gentle wind on my face,

Myriads of incredible things I’d like to try,

Oh I see so many possibilities, why?

For once the world seems to be moving to my pace…

.

My simple ambition

.

I wish not for you to be mine,

But only to be together

And, really, no matter whether

We do or do not cross the line.

Your daily presence is my joy,

Your face is that of an angel,

Your voice is a welcomed jingle,

To me it’s true, even if coy…

.

Boredom

.

My worst enemy, my worst fear, is boredom,

Though not as simple as not knowing what to do

Rather the one that no excitement can undo,

As an emperor sees only a dull kingdom.

Orient 66

.

You are aboard an ageless train;

No matter how you rack your brain

You cannot seem to understand

The power that you must withstand.

For each new life away taken,

None can help but being shaken,

However you must resist fear

And face death to stop the soldier.

.

Hello again, old friend.

.

Sun is high and oh so bright,

In the middle of its flight,

Yet in my heart cold remains,

So does the sting of my pains;

In my eyes light has gone dim,

I feel myself on the brim,

Won’t hold on for much longer,

Cannot resist, ’tis stronger…

Hello darkness my old friend,

How have you been all those years,

How have you been, sombre fiend?

You, the source of all my fears.

.

Pensive

.

Time goes by, feel it fly!

Grains of sand -for each hand-

Fall downwards, move onwards,

None can see, none can flee,

Just make most of that host,

Take it back; move, don’t slack,

Melancholy, oh that folly!

.

To Mumbai

.

Oh I know you are here,

Yes indeed I can hear

Your voice ringing so clear

Pleasantly to my ear,

Though, despite even this,

I cannot help but miss

Your presence, reminisce

About its soft warm bliss.

Perhaps it is not fair,

To force us both to bear

A burden so unfair,

Perhaps it is; I care…

For I know it’s not new,

My feelings are all true,

For I know it’s long due

That I tell I love you.
