Happiness

.

How many would drown in their tears

If they counted what they had lost

And, too, what they have never gained?

All those moments, those wasted years,

Would they even measure the cost

Or would their hearts be far too pained?

.

Allons-y !

.

Days go by, nights are fleeting,

I feel high, I am fleeing,

Running away from myself,

Running away far from her,

Putting my heart on a shelf

To chase away this dolor,

Oh when will it ever stop?

– In this huge world all alone,

Drenched in this pain to the bone –

When will fall my last teardrop?

.

Magnifique

.

Comes a cold rain of salt and a cruel dash of grey

In the blue skies above where the sun is setting,

Time has come to a halt, the weather gone astray,

In this land they call love we should be forgetting…

In the night stars appear, shining bright and many,

Strangely this sight warms not my lone soul now submerged,

At the end of the pier flickers a light any

Would follow in strong storms, by its green color urged.

“Hope”, I would have once said, fooled by it as the Great,

Hoping it could repair what had long been broken

But years pass I’m afraid; love, though not into hate,

Can turn into despair, in burden its token.

The wind loudly howling and lightning then thunder

On the wuthering heights of this poor human mind

Seem now to be scowling down at me, far under;

In my heart rise great frights for no more am I blind…

.

Melancholia

.

Life is so beautiful, defying every law,

Leaving us all in awe, both empty and so full,

It doesn’t make much sense, not always logical,

Experience magical and ever so intense,

Most make it through the years without having once slowed

Down to look where they strode and simply greet their peers,

Others give in to fears, on the side of the road

Break down under the load they carry in their tears,

A few seek the beauty of the world around them

– Very well-hidden gem – through science, deity;

Sadly some cannot see the many different paths,

They surrender to wrath, listening to no plea.

I for one cannot say to which crowd I belong

For my heart walks along the edge, ready to sway…

.

Life is also ugly, full of deformity,

A true calamity that treats us all roughly.

Dance

.

Step by step, a dance below

The age-old crying willow,

Round and round, infinitely,

Both are bound so quietly;

Step by step, a single flow,

Two people now dance a slow,

Soft cloth in the wind rustling,

Two bodies gently bustling;

Step by step, a dance below

The age-old crying willow,

Heart with heart, beating alike,

Hand in hand, it might just strike;

Step by step, a single flow,

Two people now dance a slow,

Machismo, gentle allure,

Both allied, beautiful cure.

Du cirque et de l’oiseau

.

Là, dans ce vieux palais de toile,

Ce cirque au brillantes étoiles

Où de fiers enfants de la piste

Dansent et tournent et chantent et s’oublient

Dans leurs vies aux nombreux replis,

Eux qui, pour le spectacle, existent;

Cirque où magiciens et jongleurs,

Acrobates et mimes muets,

Où marionnettistes farceurs

Dansant aux côtés de leurs jouets,

Se partagent la grande scène

Avec un clown au mille peines

Et un fantomatique oiseau

Qui s’est envolé tout là haut.

Un petit hommage.

Le 27/03 et le 06/04 en Bazin

Viendez !

Listen

.

Silence rises in the clamor

Like a sunset in the winter,

Taking over with soft power;

A running prey but no hunter.

As grow the murmurs of nothing

Among the young, among the old,

No leaf is even heard falling,

Not a word from coward or bold.

As night rising over the Earth

Colors it all in vibrant black,

What has been gained is what they lack;

Of gold is understood the worth.

.

Boite

.

Be tall, be strong and be handsome they said,

Be kind, be gentle, keep a level head.

Be proud of yourself and what you can do,

But don’t do better than those around you,

Be the most beautiful and so unique,

But not too different it’d make them speak…

Be happy or rich but don’t work too hard

For many before you have returned scarred.

Be loving and caring to all around

Lest they act differently on our ground.

Be open-minded, be intelligent,

Do not ask, just follow; be diligent.

Be crazy, be clever and change the world!

Be sane, don’t you see what is at us hurled?

How am I to know who am I to be

If you will not say what you want from me?

.

Not my best. One of the first in a while that I know I will have to rework.

Legends

.

On battlefields of old

Where many heroes bold

Clash with villains of strength

In dreams of conquering,

The road to peace goes length…

Some there are wandering,

What point lies behind this?

For to give the name Rift

To this land, this abyss,

Is to not wish a swift

End to this bloody war.

Even before death’s door

There is no surrender

‘Til one lies asunder.

But perhaps on these three

Paths now so long forlorn

Where hope glows, hearts go free,

Anew can love be born.

.

Miss I.

.

I miss you when you are gone

I miss you when you are here

My heart will never be done

Missing you my dear.

I search for you in my dreams,

I search for you when I wake,

But each time I do it seems

Like I might soon break.

I see you when you are near,

I see you when you are far,

Within my mind I can hear

The song of your star.

“All those missed shots. I’ve even begun wondering if Cupid might not be a Stormtrooper after all…”
